12 Meter Proposal InformationThe Arizona Radio Observatory (ARO) is currently accepting observing proposals. The telescope is being operated through Steward Observatory with funds provided by the University of Arizona and the Research Corporation. Proposal Submission for the KP12m TelescopeThe receivers at the KP12m are all dual channel single sideband systems that cover the frequency range of ~65 - 180 GHz in three separate bands: (i) 65-90 GHz SIS, (ii) 90-115 GHz SIS and (iii) 129-180 GHz SIS. The backends at the KP12m are filter banks with resolutions of 30 kHz, 100 kHz, 250 kHz, 500 kHz, 1000 kHz and 2000 kHz and a Millimeter Auto Correlator (MAC) that can be configured with 2 IFs at resolutions of 6 kHz, 12 kHz, 24 kHz 49 kHz, 98 kHz, 195 kHz, 391 kHz and 781 kHz. Details of the backend configurations are listed in the User Manual in Section 5.3. (pages 57-63). Further details about the telescope and its instrumentation can be viewed on our website at status pages. NOTE: 1mm Observing is now done exclusively at the 10 Meter SMT. Proposals should consist of the standard Kitt Peak 12-meter cover sheet; a brief scientific justification (not to exceed 2 pages + figures); and a source list with observing time requirements and justification. Kitt Peak 12-meter cover sheets are available for download in several computer formats at the bottom of this page. The ARO TAC, appointed by the Steward Observatory Director, will review all proposals. The ARO Director will schedule successful proposals according to instrument availability. Proposals will be accepted by email in Postscript, PDF or MSWord format. Send
